Arteriosclerosis arises when plaque builds up on the inner walls of arteries, restricting blood flow. Any such obstruction results in a Venturi pressure drop.
Abstract
Principle of Venturi Vacuum A vacuum generator is a single stage venturi that creates high vacuum with fast response using compressed air.Venturi Face Mask. In principle, similar to an anesthesia mask. Official Full-Text Paper (PDF): A comparison of venturi and side-arm ventilation in anaesthesia for bronchoscopy.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to reply t o Professor Wyantâs letter. We agree that the first documented account of the first clinical administration of thiopentone is the anaesthetic record of Waters dated â3.8.34â (i.e. 8th March 1934).â However, it is known that Waters & Lundy were carrying out their preliminary trials simultaneously. In the record, Waters refers t o thiopentone as âThionembutalâ, a name given to it by L ~ n d y . *Waters in his first published account ~ refers to it as ânumber 8064â.â We would point out that in Professor Freyâs Foreword to Dundee & Wyantâs bookâ he refers t o the introduction of thiopentone by Lundy, although giving the date as 1936. The first published account by Lundy4 is dated September 1934, in which he states that he has had only limited opportunity for clinical trial, so it can only be conjecture on our part as to when he actually gave his first injection.
